I was amazed at how few Hawks boards even had a game thread for this game. Hawks fans don't seem very enthusiastic about their team and the ones who were posting were trashing the Hawks by the end of this game. Sad. Anyway, here are the best comments from around the few boards who did have game threads
0-2 on the season againts the defending champs, but only loosing by a combined 3 points. I expect a win but I'm sure that's way to much to expect considering you never know what ur gonna get out of these birds.
GO Hawks!!!!! I HATE THE CELTICS!!!
KG not playing. Just heard it. This is definintely a win. No way they can beat us without KG because they are left with a fat slow pf who cant guard Smoove.
Yeah no way fat baby can slow us down. We got this one. Thank you KG for resting in this one.
We'll see this Ray tonight
THIS TEAM NEEDS THIS WIN!
Another Magic fan here. Hope you guys get a big win tonight. Give it to em.
Glen Davis will be checking Horford so hopefully Al can exploit Big Baby.
I wish Marvin Williams was playing
When you need a player taken down, Marvin's the man
Pierce is the man when it comes to drawing phantom calls.
I hate how nonchalant Bibby is about going after loose balls. He assumed it was going out of bounds and Ray Allen outran him.
Glen Davis just ate Joe Johnsons shot. Why does he have to have the game of his life right now?? Put Rondo in the game, House is killing us.
Do the Hawks realize they are playing the Celtics? They aren't fighting for any loose balls or rebounds. This is the laziest they've played at home since the Clippers game. Getting clowned by the Celtics at home w/o their starting 5 on the court is a joke.
They gave the Magic a great game with this lineup. So it would make sense for us to get clowned considering how much better the Magic are than us.
So Marbury has his season high in 1 half vs the Hawks? Pathetic.
Mikki Moore is built like a high school player
Great showing Hawks. You get your butts kicked by the Spurs at home, then play the defending champs who are without KG and get an even worse butt kicking. Way to go gang.
We are not ready for prime time.
Horford's post game isn't giving me any visions of Karl Malone. Somehow I doubt Malone would have much trouble scoring on Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby.
Ray "Mr Clutch" Allen is just sick out there right now.
Ray freaking Allen is clutch, but is hitting retarded shots!
Nice flop by Pierce.
A flop can be a good play. Josh decided to jump straight into him when he came with the double team. Pierce felt the contact and got to the line, he's one of the best in the business at doing that.
Teams like the Celtics or the Spurs expose the worst we got (rebounding and help D), because they play based on fundamentals, and we do not.
We got owned by Big Baby. BIG FREAKING BABY.
Boston made themselves better by getting Marbury whether people believe it or not..Marbury is insurance and the world champions didn't rest on their laurels..
The Celtics can do whatever they want to the Hawks. That's not a rivalry.
This match up isn't a rivalry. It is a big deal in Atlanta and just another game in Boston. When was the last time Hawks beat the Celtics in anything meaningful?
And yet we still get our *ss kicked and let a 6ft7 almost 300 pound lard *ss destroy us. Where was the great Al Horford?
"They are who we thought they were." Hawks are good, not great. They are one of the very best "middle of the pack teams."
Last night, there was no KG for the Celtics. No problem? Yes it was. It was a big problem. His attitude, his bragging, chest pounding and running off at the mouth revs up the competetive juices of the Hawks. That was missing last night and no one turned it up until it was too late.
Rondo said there was no rivalry between he Hawks and the Celtics. Again, they proved that this is true. The Hawks aren't good enough (That's what he meant) to be a rivalry for the elite teams in the NBA. Celtics are great. They are the champions of the NBA and until someone takes the crown away from them, they will remain the champions.
JR Giddens is in his third stint with the Utah Flash and picked up where he left off when he was there the last time, helping the Flash to a 109 to 82 win over the Anaheim Arsenal.
Boston Celtics assignee J.R. Giddens picked up one of his game-high 11 assists after finding James Lang for an easy bucket to extend the Flash lead to its largest of the first half at 45-33 with 6:22 left in the second quarter.
Giddens, who is on his third assignment with the Flash, knocked down eight points, grabbed four rebounds, blocked five shots, and recorded a D-League career high in assists.
“It’s been nice for J.R. to go back up to Boston and see what he needs to do from those guys, and then come back here and put all that to work,” Jones added.
Giddens started for the Flash and finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal and 5 blocked shots in 34 minutes of play.
These same two teams will meet tonight in Utah at 9:00 PM ET and you can catch the action on NBA Futurecast if you want to see Giddens in action on an off night for the Celtics.
As far as his game is concerned, KG is still at the top of his game, and should be for many more years. His court sense is still keen, his passing ability is still sharp, his jumper is still effective, and his overall game is still top grade.
But his body may be in the initial stages of decline. Last year, his oblique muscles kept him out of 11 games, and this year, if he manages to play minimally for the remaining 9 games, he'll only have played in 66 out of a total 82 games.
Many of the former NBA greats had the competivie fire still burning in the belly in the latter stages of their careers, but had to give up the game they love due to their body not holding up (Bird immediately comes to mind). Could KG's name be added to this list in a few years?
Celtics coach Doc Rivers described guard Rajon Rondo and forward Kevin Garnett as game-time decisions for tonight's game against Atlanta after this morning's shootaround at Georgia Tech. But Rondo, who has sprained both ankles recently, said while wearing ice packs on both ankles after shootaround that he expected to play. Garnett, who returned a week ago from a strained right knee, didn't do any physical activity at the shootaround today. Rivers, however, said that Garnett hasn't had a setback and he has made the All-Star a game-time decision in every game since his return.
I think there is a lot of double speak in this report. First of all, KG hasn't been listed as a game time decision since his first game back, no matter what Doc is saying now. In the last game, it was pointed out on Sports Tonight that in the Orlando game, unlike the previous games, KG wasn't up and cheering his teammates during their comeback, but was sitting on the bench with his head down. In previous games he was up and yelling and even throwing assistant coaches around in excitement. His behavior and attitude in the Orlando game was clearly different from previous games. Did he re-injure the knee? Did he realize it wasn't completely healed? We probably won't ever know, but it seemed apparent that something had changed.
As for Rondo, I made my feelings on that clear in a previous article. Doc insists that getting healthy for the playoffs is the number one priority for this team. Yet, knowing that Rondo is walking around with ice on his admittedly sore ankles, he is still thinking about letting Rondo play in this game. If getting healthy is indeed the #1 priority, he would shut Rondo down until the ankles were completely healed.
All this makes me wonder if the Celtics will be healthy in time for the playoffs. Will KG be healthy? Will Rondo continue to have ankle problems? Will Leon, Scal or Tony be back? Stay tuned, because there are way more questions than there are answers at this point.
Here's a list of this offseason's free agents, both restricted and unrestricted. I'm bringing this out because I think its obvious we are going to need better bench players for next year's team:
I hope Dwight gets as physical with kg and Perkins like when he went up against shaq. It should be a defensive standoff, I expect low scoring, and a lot of Stan yelling.
Leon Powe is still out BTW with that sprained knee, he and Tony Allen are supposedly a ways off from returning...Which is totally cool with me, Powe loves playing the Magic...
I think we're going to win this one. Dwight was humiliated last time when Boston visited, so I think Stan will be in his head all day to remind him of that.
If we can't beat the Celtics at home with Garnett still getting back to regular minutes, we don't deserve the second seed.
Magic win. They hafta..
We need this game.
Dwight- Crush their pathetic big men...except for KG, he aint pathetic.
I PREDICT THE OFFICIATING WILL BE TERRIBLE.
There will be an altercation between Dwight Howard and Perkins. KG will get in his face. Battie and gortat will try to back up Dwight because no one in the court has the balls to defend him. They will be ejected.
I want to beat Boston real bad but I'm worried about capturing the 2nd seed and having to face Detroit in the first round
Magic get luck of the Irish against Powe-less Celtics
Dwight is the key, stop whining and start being uber physical. Smack Perkins in the mouth early and put Garnett on his *** early and it sets the tone and makes a statement.
Uber-physical= offensive fouls because Perkins and Davis are floppers.
Perkins is no flopper. The guy plays Dwight as tough as anyone else in the league. If Dwight has a subpar night, he has himself to blame.
I don't see us winning this game.
How come the Celtics starters have huge pictures, and we have the teeny tiny ones?
That's because all the Celtics players have big heads from their egos
We are not going to win, I would love for them to Prove me wrong, but just like Detriot, they know how to guard the bigs and the 3 point line,
Why exactly do we want to win this game? #7 - Detroit Pistons Let the Celtics play them in the first round plz.
The Celtics whine and complain but the magic take this one
Destroy the dirty, cheap shotting, tommy heinsohn cheering Celtics
The Magic are favored by 3.5 points.
I think this will be a statement game for the Magic... Our coming out party on National TV. I say we win because I'm sure the statement were trying to make is not "We suck".
Allen worries me
Perkins sure gets away with a lot of pushing.
Rondo out for the game?
No, he took acting classes with pierce
Shard mugged, no call, then Big Baby just lowers his head and gets the call. Wooooow.
Glenn Davis = the rashard stopper.
Davis u fat a** go for the ball and not howards legs. I bet if the ball was a cheeseburger you will get it
Moore is just useless against Dwight.
I hate that I can hear applause when Ray Allen hits a three. I guess it's not the Orlando fans' fault, but it's annoying that there is such a notable Celtic crowd.
Glad to see Orlando still cant get a call against Boston. Watch the Celts fans make a huge deal out of 1 missed call against them for a week again ...
Boston sure gets a lot of help for a team that is supposed to be so good. I guess they need it.
Will someone please let the refs know that they don't have to be pro-Boston. They can beat Orlando without making it an 8 on 5 affair.
Its the CelticsLakersCavs syndrome. The refs have strict orders to not call fouls against these teams.
Pierce just pushing his way all around the court
What chucks by House.
House gets the chucks to go in, pietrus cant finish layups, go figure
There's that silky smooth Rondo jumper.
Boston is really good. The Magic aren't going to pull away from them.
Dwights about to drop kick walker if he keeps it up
Pierce is able to foul anyone without getting called for it
If garnett is only playing 8 minutes in the third we need to give it all we got to limit him as much as possible. They just arent the same team without him
Can somebody please stop Perkins from looking like a star? Not only it hurts the Magic, but also hurts my fantasy team in the playoffs.
I just want to see doc get chucked out and go NATO at the refs again get one fined and then the Celtics will surly lose in the playoffs the refs will hate the Celtics be a lonnnnnnng hard run for them then
Commence standard 3rd quarter meltdown.
I think we got away with one there........lol. Pierce got mugged
Look at pierce flopping around. What a joke.
Doc looks silly arguing a call with the amount of favoritism his big 3 get.
When doesn't Doc or the whole Celtic organization complain about something that doesn't go their way? They're a bunch of cry babies
Is it me or have the Celtics played better without garnett
I wish they would put Marbury in. This game is getting too close.
I'm tired of the C's getting every bounce and every call.
So much flopping in one game.
The refs are lettin 'em play. On both sides, lots of non-calls.
I cant see us beating the Celtics in a series
What a good win. But something needs to be done about Hedo taking 16 shots and sucking like he does.
I don't want to here espn saying if KG played the whole game it would of been different because we were killing them when he was in
Nice to celebrate a win, but we can go ahead and drop back to the 3rd seed now. I just went to espn and checked the current playoff match-ups and saw us against the pistons in round one... It was sobering. That would be a energy consuming first round series for us.
A win is a win, but we need to close better if we want to beat them in a series.
At first, Stan made a comment about the fact that we played our best ball in the 16 minutes that KG was in. Then Stan took another question. But instead of answering the next question, he went back to Schmitz's question and proceeding to ask how a team can get on the "excuse list" of winning and losing based on who is present on their roster. Boston seems to be at the top of this list and he wondered how the Magic good get on it.
We played better when Garnett was in the game...and worse when he came out.
(+-) for Garnett = -10 Shows you how much the C's "need" KG. I hate Boston. A big ball of excuses.
It was crazy loud, especially at the end, I like the fact that the fans didn't fold to the cheering by the Celts fans, there are a lot of them here, lol with new dark green jerseys, I guess they had a bandwagon sale after the championship.
Rajon Rondo sprained his left ankle after Orlando center Dwight Howard stepped on it during a first-quarter layup. Rondo eventually got up, made the free throw, and played the rest of the game. After the game, Rondo was walking gingerly but still felt positive he would play tomorrow. He recently missed two games with a sprained left ankle.
"I feel bad. It hurts," Rondo said. "I played on adrenaline really. When I first got up I was cool and I wanted to make the free throw and I just keep playing. It's both ankles now. What's killing me is it seems like I just step on somebody's shoe or someone steps on my foot. It's not like someone is coming at me spraining my ankles.
"I plan on playing [against Atlanta]. I have a long day to rest [today]. I will ice both of them when I get there tomorrow and stay off my heat."
Doc keeps saying that his main goal is to get the Celtics healthy for the playoffs. Rondo has been having problems with his ankles and it seems every game he tweaks them again. He admits it is both ankles and that they hurt. Doc is micromanaging KG's minutes. He is being cautious with Leon and Scal. But, Rondo continues to play on ankles that are less than 100%
We have slipped to the third seed and that isn't all that bad a place to be. Granted we will play an extra series without home court advantage but Doc keeps saying if we are 100% healthy we can beat anyone anywhere. So, why aren't Rondo's gimpy ankles more of a concern? We can hold onto the 3rd seed even with Rondo on the bench. It would give Marbury more playing time to get his game on track. And we would have a healthy Rondo going into the playoffs. Doc needs to give Rondo a couple of games off whether he wants to sit or not. We need him healthy more than any other player on this team and continuing to play on 2 sore ankles isn't going to get it done. I don't understand how Doc can continue to insist that being healthy is his main goal and then continue to play Rondo on 2 sore ankles that seem to get sorer with every game. Can he play? Probably. Should he play? Absolutely not.
Tonight's game is not only big, it is huge. The Celtics won't catch the Cavs for top seed. The Cavaliers are playing too well for that to happen. Even if the Celtics win every game from now until the end of the season, barring an injury to LeBron, I highly doubt that the Cavs will lose more than 1 or 2 and that won't be enough for the Celtics to catch them. But, the Celtics are still in a battle for second seed. A win tonight would put them 2 games ahead of Orlando, a loss would leave them even up. A win would give the Celtics the series 3-1 while a loss would tie the series at 2 each. I truly believe that the Celtics are the better team. I can't see them coming into this with anything less than 100% focus and effort and if they do, they should get the win. The Celtics have said that they can beat any team on any court. Now would be a good time to prove it. If they truly aren't worried about home court in the playoffs, winning in Orlando would be a good indication that they can back up their words.
I just love Perk. I have been on the Perk bandwagon since we drafted him. At first, it was just me and the crack staff at Perkisabeast who were singing Perk's praises. For the first couple years, I caught a lot of flack for telling everyone that Perk was going to be a top 10 center in this league. Most posters on the boards wanted to trade him and were sure he could never be more than a back up on a good team. It is great that others are finally seeing how what a truly good player Perk is. There was a good article in the Austin Statesman about how Perk is one of those rare breed true centers and there just aren't many of them around any more. You won't see a lot of what Perk does in the box score but his defense is crucial to this team. He is an enforcer. This quote from the Herald after the Spurs game is so quintessential Perk. He isn't moving for anyone. If you watched the clip, it was Duncan who moved, not Perk.
Kendrick Perkins [stats], who had five blocks in one of his best defensive performances of the season, ended up in a nose-to-nose standoff with Tim Duncan early in the game.
“It was just two guys getting physical,” Perkins said. “He said, ‘Ain’t you moving?’ And I said, ‘I ain’t moving.’ ” .
After tonight's game, the game in Cleveland will be a huge game for the Celtics. Chances are it won't affect the seedings by that time, but it will affect the mental attitude of each team going into the playoffs. The Cavs have dominated on their floor all season. They have been 1986 Celtics good at home this season. The Celtics didn't win one game in Cleveland all last season or this season. With home court advantage, the Cavs won't have to win away from the Q. But, the Celtics must prove that they can win in Cleveland if they want to make it back to the Finals. If they win on April 12th, they have the mental edge that they have won in Cleveland and can do it again. If they lose, the Cavs still feel that they have the upper hand. There are still many mind games to be played along with the last 10 games of the season.
I love Bill Walker. He may still be making rookie mistakes and at times misses assignments, but you just have to love his attitude and aggressiveness and athleticism. He is like Gerald Green with a brain. This kid has potential. He will be a key to this team's future. I also think that he can be a defensive presence on the court right now. He is tough and won't back down from anyone and has shown he definitely gets under the opponents' skins and gets them rattled.
I love this dunk where he leaves a stack of bodies in his wake.
From all reports, Tony is getting close to resuming basketball duties and will be back before the end of the season. I am really hoping that Leon will be too even though the reports from Doc haven't been all that positive on his status. We really need Leon for the playoffs, even moreso than Tony. I am also wondering if Scal will play again. Kind of like the boxer that gets hit once too many. You don't mess with head injuries. He was playing really good this season and making a difference so it is too bad that he went out. I doubt he will be anywhere near as effective if he comes back because you know he is out of shape since he wasn't in that great a shape to begin with.
Speaking of great shape, Ray Allen continues to amaze. When we traded for him, I remember thinking and reading thta he was too old and coming off double ankle surgery was pretty much washed up. I, and many of the others who thought that way, couldn't have been more wrong. He struggled somewhat last season trying to find his role on the team but in the Finals when he was really needed he came through big time. Now this season he has been nothing short of incredible. He is the epitome of efficiency shooting 49% from the field, 41% from beyond the arc, and 95% from the line. He has been the most consistent Celtic this season. And he isn't showing signs of slowing down.
I am really excited for tonight's game. The Celtics really need to win this one for their own mental health and swagger, aside from all the playoff seeding implications. You have to wonder if Doc will give KG a longer leash in this one or if he will keep his playing time to the first and 3rd quarters again. If this game is anywhere close in the 4th quarter, Doc may have to tie KG down and sedate him if he wants to keep him out of the game. For one thing, if KG has to sit out the 4th quarter, Armand Hill probably won't be anywhere near him down the stretch of this game to avoid the possibility of broken ribs.
The Clippers win out in LA may have given Clips' fans some hope for this one but most were realistic in knowing that the Celtics wouldn't lose this one. It must be tough being a Clippers fan. At least when the Celtics went through their 22 years of futility they had their history to fall back on. Here are the best comments from around the Clippers' boards.
We only lost yesterday at Toronto because we got caught looking ahead to today's game against our new rivals, the Celtics.
Boston is looking to kill us after what we did to them last time...
Please for once! Clippers need to play seriously....
My thoughts exactly. Boston has been on a bit of a slide and I'm sure they want revenge on us. They do have KG back now so if we play our best we will be in this game. It really depends on what kind of team our team wants to be tonight.
This will be worse than a double root canal Worse than feeling the pain from the movie SAW Worse than the papercut scene from the movie Jack Ass all combined!!!
This will be the testament of pride for one self, as well as the fans.
Does anyone want to go out on a limb and guess which bench scrub will have the game of his/her life tonight? A) Perkins B) Big Baby Davis C) Leon Powe D) Eddie House E) Marbury F) Scalabrine
Marbury will probably have the game of his life (seeing as we let all the scrub PG's have their way with us) and he'll be like "see I'm still awesome" and then never have a game like that again......until he faces us again.
Ill only watch this one because I hate the city of Boston and their overblown egos so much. Talk about a bandwagon city. And talk about BUYING a championship.
Don't think they bought their title I believe they earned their title, there are some C fans that jumped on board but at the same time their was a base of C's fans that were in the same boat we are in and those fans still stood strong to this day.
The Clippers are definitely going to get chewed up and spit out of TD Banknorth Garden…
I felt the same way about the Clips chances the first game against the Celtics and the game against the Cavaliers but they showed a LOT more fight and won one (but should have won both). Clips need these wins to help make it easier for them to sleep after the season is over…
Don't worry we got this game
I'm calling this one again. WE WIN at the Gaaahden!
There is a lot of optimism. KG is back and Big Baby is playing out of his mind. This doesn’t bold well for the clips
The chances of the Clippers winning this one is < 0.01%
Accuscore projections Boston 94% Favorite - Clippers 06% Underdog.
How'd the Clips manage 6 percent?
This will not end well for the Celtics. Clips got this.
Least we know we have a championship contender bench.
Garnett is just a loud mouthed fool. I never thought I could hate any player more than Kobe and then Garnett goes to the Celtics and plays the fool. He needs to just shut the hell up and play the damn game. I wish someone would just knock the fool out.
A few years ago he also tried to pick a fight with Kaman. Kaman and Brand were killing him and Garnett took exception to it late one game and went after Kaman. Going after Kaman is like picking on the handicap kid in school.
Are my eyes deceiving me? Are we actually up 37-36 in the second quarter with 4:50 to go
Just when I get fed up with them they suck me right back in. The life of a Clippers fan.
Perkins sets another hard pick, this time on Collins... Punk
Perkins is a dirty player
Their defensive coach is better than our head coach
Pelase can we lose this game with dignity?
Clips end the game on 11-2 run Which accomplished nothing except… that they beat the spread (which was 15.) Way to go fellas.
As I was watching the Grizzlies game I was thinking how much players like Glen Davis, Leon Powe and Perk have improved over last season. They are all better and because of that, the Celtics are better. When Marbury shakes the rust off and gets familiar with the system which should happen before the playoffs, he is a huge upgrade over Sam Cassell. Mikki Moore may not be an upgrade over PJ but he certainly can fill the role that PJ filled coming in off the bench to give us some length. I think this team will be vastly underestimated in the playoffs because they haven't dominated like they did last season. I also think that they are putting everything together just in time for the playoffs.
Speaking of Perk. He has been solid all season. He is showing some nice offensive moves around the basket and has quietly become one of the best one on one defenders in the league. If Perk doesn't make the All Defensive Team this season, there is something terribly wrong with the voting process. Just look at his 5 blocks against Tim Duncan and the Spurs. Perk will rarely have flashy stats in the box score, but his contributions to this team are so valuable. You hear about players doing the little things and Perk is a good example. He may not get the rebound, but he will box out so that a teammate can get it. He may not get the basket but he will set a screen so that his teammate can score. And you will never see all the shots he bothers by his presence in the paint, but there are a ton of them. I had to laugh in one of the last games where Perk was setting a screen and someone ran into him and just fell down like he hit a brick wall while Perk just kept playing like nothing happened. The announcers were even chuckling about it. Perk truly is a beast.
I love Bill Walker and feel that he is going to be a very good player in this league. Just from the glimpses we have seen so far, you just have to be excited about this kid. He may even be that defensive 3 we need to replace Posey in spurts down the stretch and in the playoffs. Derren was so right about Danny's drafting ability. To find players like Walker, Big Baby and Leon in the second round is amazing. There have been discussions about Big Baby or Leon lately. I think the answer is both. They bring different things to the equation and I think both can contribute in a big way depending on the matchups.
How big is Wednesday's game vs Orlando? It is HUGE! The Celtics are just 1 game ahead of the Magic. A loss would put them even. A win would put the Celtics up 2 games on them. A win would give the Celtics a psychological edge and the tie breaker should it come to that. It will also give the league the message that yes, the Celtics can win on the road. If ever there was a game that the Celtics should be up for, it is this one. We know that Orlando will be up for it. There would be no excuse for any lapses in focus or intensity in this one. I consider this one a must win.
Defense wins championships. The Celtics slacked off on defense while KG was out and we have seen some evidence that since he is back, the Celtics are showing signs of getting that defensive intensity back. To win another title, they have to get back to that swarming defense that shuts down opponents. That is what they were missing in the recent losses. They couldn't get stops down the stretch. But with KG back and everyone healthy, I think that trend is about to stop.
What kind of intensity has KG built up over the time he has been out? Just a look at him on the bench should give you a clue. If you watched him pick up Armand Hill after the Spurs game and shake him around like a rag doll, you will get some idea of what kind of energy he has been building up and will let loose once he is unshackled by the minutes restrictions. Too funny!
Tonight is payback time. The Clippers got a win out in LA right after KG went down with the injury and the Celtics were reeling somewhat. KG is back and the Celtics are playing with renewed energy and nothing less than an absolute blowout would be acceptable in this one. The Celtics starters should be able to rest the whole 4th quarter because we are ahead by 50 kind of a blowout.
I expect the Grizz to pull this one out in a close one. Celts may be off their game.
I don't know. I admit the Celts have been in a yo-yo effect in the last couple of weeks with KG being out. Now that he's back, the Celts may draw energy off his return to motivate them to continue their quest keep their #1 spot for the playoffs and to the finals.
This one's going to get ugly. Second night of a back to back against the defending champs. KG back in the lineup.
Well the good news is that there will be a sellout. The bad news is that 18,000+ will have to witness an *** kickin'
I think we probably won't win this, but it's going to be closer than many people think because for them is also a back to back game and they'll understimate us.
I'll be surprised and pleasantly so if we can keep it under 20.
We're in HD tonight, so maybe I will actually be able to definitively see some of the horrid officiating that will go against us tonight!
I could actually see the three steps that Rondo took that time.
There is no way there are that many Boston transplants in Memphis. Just a bunch of fake bandwagoners who wish they were in with the popular crowd. Sad.
You know OJ and Ray Allen do have similar games. They handle the ball about the same, have the same kind of speed. But Ray is more of a pure shooter, Mayo is a streak shooter.
Boston knows how to use Ray Allen
Man, Perkins is a mean looking dude! Marc has the match-up advantage on him, though.
I'snt throwing the ball into the backcourt a violation?
Yeah, unless you do it against the Grizzlies.
I understand people wanting to go out and see the defending champs in action. What annoys me are Memphians cheering for the away team.
Watch how many screens they set to open their shooters, something that the Grizzlies maybe should do too.
Looking solid Grizz. Keep it up! I think we match up well against the Celtics.
17 point quarters against the other scrubs in the league won't work, and it's a killer against the Champs.
I see a slow but steady beatdown has started.
Shots are all short = tired legs on tail of a back to back.
Celtics are on playing back to backs And they are old
That's pitiful then if that's the case as young as this team is. Back 2 backs should'nt affect them as much as a veteran team like Boston or San Antonio. I think its more likely that we just suck!
Glen Davis is one of the new floppers. This dude ends up on the floor every third play.
