You know the old saying, "Where there is smoke, there is fire." Well, it sure is getting smoky around here. To bring you up to date, here is what has gone on around the Celtics nation today. First Jeff over on Celtics Blog posted this on the forum.

so I got a mysterious email from someone claiming that someone claimed to have a source saying that the KG for Al Jefferson deal was getting done and includes 2 first rounders and a "host of others"

That in itself isn't enough to get much more than a good discussion going, but almost the same time, this was posted on the Celtics Nation forum.

never been on this board before im from minneapolis....i am very close to the situation and have been told that kg to boston is done. this is from the horses mouth...dont know for who yet....will post more info when i get it...this should breathe alot of life into the celtics....piece, ray allen...and kg...makes you guys the fav in the eastern conference in my opinion...

So, there are two separate sources posting that a deal to send Al to Minny for KG is imminent. But, that still could be a coincidence as these rumors get spread all the time. But, there's more. Then, this was posted on the Globe message boards.

A friend of mine who has a source deep inside the Celtics organization told me the deal that would send Garnett to Boston in exchange for Jefferson, Green, Ratliff and a first rounder (not sure what year) will be announced on Wednesday.
I cannot confirm this but the source is pretty high up in the C's organization.

More smoke... Now, we get to the fire. Kingly, a friend of Al's and a poster who has never posted anything that wasn't true confirmed this.

I'll put it like this. Your boss calls you and tells you how much he likes you and what you do for the company and is willing to help you in any way in the future. But this is a business and we have a chance to get a very special employee and the only way we get him is trade a valuable commodity such as yourself. Be on standby b/c we could make this move within the next 24hrs but there is a chance things don't work out.
If your boss told you that in so many words, what would you think.

Now, this carries some weight. Kingly is a very reputable poster and this gives legs to this rather than it simply being an internet rumor. There is too much smoke on this one to just be a rumor. There is some fire under it.
