July 26, 2006 If you are one of those who thinks that Iverson to Boston is a good move, you should read this article by Mike Fine and I believe it will soften the blow of realizing that Iverson is not coming to Boston. It details Iverson's trouble on and off the court... Do we want someone who thinks the solution to a domestic dispute is to wave a gun around and threaten to kill people? Do we really want someone who blows off practice and fan appreciation events? Do we want someone who is arrested for urinating in a public place or who matter of factly carries concealed weapons and pot? Everything about him goes against what Danny is building here. You can overlook one or two incidents... Tony's legal troubles, Redick's DWI, Orien's car chase, but when these incidents become a pattern and regular occurrences, it becomes a problem and you can no longer overlook it. Sure he is talented and plays hard but so are a lot of other players and they play hard as well. Do we want to put our poodles in with the pit bull? I personnally don't think so. If Danny really wanted Iverson, it would go against everything he has been preaching for the last year about bringing in character guys and instituting a team code of conduct...

Nobody plays harder than Iverson and he’s a treat to watch, but can you imagine coaching him? Larry Brown is still trying to forget him. Can you imagine being a youngster playing with him? It’s like putting a poodle in a pit bull pen.
Beyond the money, beyond the practice issues, Iverson is an individual who simply courts trouble. [More] source: Patriot Ledger
