The Celtics' Summer League team will play their final game today at 4 pm Eastern Time against the Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons are 2-2 in Summer League Play and have been paced by Alex Acker with 19 points and 5 rebounds, Amir Johnson with 9.8 points and 6.8 rebounds along with 13.3 points from Jason Maxiel. The Pistons' victories have come against the Wizards (80-67) and the Suns (90-87) while they were handed losses from the Knicks (91-68) and Clippers (89-73).
The Celtics also have a 2-2 record. Our stars have been Ryan Gomes with 19.3 points and 5.8 rebounds, Gerald Green 17.8 points and 3.8 rebounds, Al Jefferson with 11 points and 8.3 rebounds, Rajon Rondo with 9.5 points and 5.3 assists, Sebastian Telfair with 14.3 points and 5.3 assists, and Allan Ray with 11.5 points per game. As you can see, the Celtics' talent goes across the board with balanced scoring from several players.
Good to see we were able to come back from a double digit deficit and pull out a close win. Allan Ray scores 26 pts. Time to sign him up to a real contract. He's shown in these summer league games that he can stroke the rock and be a good fit in an uptempo offense.
